Simon Thomsett
I was born and raised in Kenya and have looked after raptors ever since I was a small boy. I’ve been rehabilitating and conserving large African eagles including Martial eagles and Crowned eagles, as well as falcons and hawks, for the last 16 years for the Peregrine Fund and the National Museums of Kenya. I work wherever the birds take me.

A recently qualified zoologist, I have worked on projects on raptors, big cats and primates on three continents. I am of Egyptian-British origin and have studied in Switzerland, Ireland and the UK. Helping Simon Thomsett care for his birds in Kenya in 2007 was a life-changing experience. I am really excited about our African Raptor Expedition and hope that through our experiences, people around the world will come to appreciate the beauty of Africa and its threatened creatures.
